This is the second release of the collaboration between NY-born brand ENGINEERED GARMENTS and Tokyo-based GU.​ ENGINEERED GARMENTS, founded by designer Daiki Suzuki, is renowned for its modern reinterpretation of classic American workwear and military pieces, meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail, resulting in truly “engineered” items.​ This collaboration was made possible as a result of the shared passion GU and ENGINEERED GARMENTS have for “craftsmanship.”​ Centered around the theme New American Riveriera, this collection updates classic American resort style for today. Featuring 6 styles, it emphasizes materials and silhouettes while delivering comfort and a playful spirit.​

Daiki Suzuki, a designer from Japan, is Nepenthes America representative and founder of ENGINEERED GARMENTS. Born in 1962.​ He moved to the US in 1989, working in Boston, New York, and San Francisco before returning to New York to establish an office in 1997.​ In 2008, he received the CFDA Award for Best New Menswear Designer. He has been an official member of the CFDA since 2009. ​ ※CFDA stands for the Council of Fashion Designers of America.​ The CFDA Fashion Awards are often referred to as the "Academy Awards of the fashion industry."​
