The third collaboration between New York-based ENGINEERED GARMENTS and Tokyo-based GU is here, born of a shared passion for craftsmanship. ​ ENGINEERED GARMENTS is known for its “carefully engineered approach to clothing,” led by designer Daiki Suzuki. ​ The brand reinterprets the timeless appeal of American workwear and military apparel through a contemporary lens.​ ​ This season’s theme is Daily Expedition. Treating urban life as a field of exploration, the collection features a lineup inspired by functional clothing and outdoor wear.​ Based on utility wear such as padded coats and fleece, items have been reimagined with materials and details in line with this season’s concept. Japanese-born designer Daiki Suzuki is the Representative of Nepenthes America and founder of ENGINEERED GARMENTS. He was born in 1962. He moved to the United States in 1989. After living and working in Boston, New York, and San Francisco, he re-established his office in New York in 1997. ​ In 2008, he won the CFDA Award for Best New Menswear Designer. He has been an official member of the CFDA since 2009. ​ ​ *CFDA stands for the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
